Time Management
Time Management
Time management is a problem that effects a lot of people. Learning the skills to stop procrastination can also seem very daunting. Some of you may want a clear definition of what procrastination is. Procrastination is when you put off things that you should be focusing on right now, usually in favor of doing something that is more enjoyable or that you’re more comfortable doing.
The first step is to figure out that your procrastinating. Ex,… Do you sit down to start a big project and instantly go off to make something to drink? Do you fill your day with low priority tasks, or nothing, from your to do list? Wait for the right mood or feeling to do high priority tasks? Say yes to unimportant tasks you’re friends want you to do?
The second step is to work out WHY your procrastinating. Does the task seem overwhelming or unpleasant? Are you unorganized? Can you just not decide what task to do?
Step 3 is to start adopting anti-procrastination strategies. Make up your own rewards, and make sure you notice how good it feels to finish things! Ask someone else to check up on you. Peer pressure works! Identify the unpleasant consequences of NOT doing the task.
If you're procrastinating because you're disorganized, here's how to get organized! Keep a To-Do list. Become a master of scheduling and project planning, so that you know when to start those all-important projects. Set yourself time-bound goals: that way, you’ll have no time for procrastination! Focus on one task at a time.
If you're putting off starting a project because you find it overwhelming, you need to take a different approach. Here are some tips. Break the project into a set of smaller, more manageable tasks. Doing small chunks of a project gives you a feeling of accomplishment and should lessen your stress. Start with some quick, small tasks if you can, even if these aren't the logical first actions. You'll feel that you're achieving things, and so perhaps the whole project won't be so overwhelming after all.
If you’re procrastinating because you find the task unpleasant. Many procrastinators overestimate the unpleasantness of a task. So give it a try! You may find that it’s not as bad as you thought! Hold the unpleasant consequences of not doing the work at the front of your mind. Reward yourself for doing the task.

Windows Movie Maker
Having played with windows movie maker in the past, I feel I can use the program without much problem. At (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAqMsxnSU6c) you can see one of my previous videos. I feel that windows movie maker has similar elements to Adobe Flash mostly in the timeline. Windows Movie Maker is a more primative tool compared to Adobe Flash, but I feel that it has helped make Flash a little easier to learn.

IPL2
So my project for my Internet Foundations class was to research the IPL2 (Internet Pubic Libary). This resource is very interesting as it claims to be the most reliable information you can find on the web. So I proceeded to look up "How long do zombies live?" with no success. My first thoughts must be since it is really a fake topic there would be no legit answer. So I decided to search something else something I could find a concrete answer to. I chose "Why do we wear green on St. Patrick's day?" due to the holiday just passing. With this reasonable answer: "In the United States, it's customary to wear green on St. Patrick's Day. But in Ireland the color was long considered to be unlucky, says Bridget Haggerty, author of The Traditional Irish Wedding and the Irish Culture and Customs Web site.
As Haggerty explains, Irish folklore holds that green is the favorite color of the Good People (the proper name for faeries). They are likely to steal people, especially children, who wear too much of the color. " for the specific URL. I was impressed myself its well worth the look.

Absolute Path-
Absolute paths refer to the very specific data line pointing directly to your website. The absolute path is also often referred to as the URL.
Relative Path-
Relative paths are used more frequently than absolute paths and are used when you need to link to another page within your site or include an image or something else from your own site.
A storyboard is a diagram of a Web site‘s structure showing all the pages in the site and indicating how they are linked together. There are different types of storyboards including Hierarchal, Linear, Augmented and Mixed.
Hierarchal - the pages are linked going from the most general page down to more specific pages.
Linear structure - each page is linked with the pages that follow and precede it in an ordered chain.
Augmented Linear - each page contains an additional link back to the opening page.
Mixed structure -Mixed structures just mean that you have a combination of structures. For instance a mixed structure might be a website with an over all Hierarchal structure with each page being more specific then the last. Each page leads to the next in a linear structure. All the pages have a link to the original page. This would be an example of a website using mixed.
